Handmade polymer clay beads marbled in black and white & finished with a co-ordinating silk cord.
Did you ever get a chance to play with marbling inks? Swirling the colours through trays of water before dipping sheets of paper to transfer the pattern - and always being mildly disappointed as the colours would run and spoil the perfection. Thankfully polymer clay holds the design in perpetuity.
Made on the sofa of Seagreen & Blue founder, Eva, whilst rewatching Stranger Things S2. Will is a bit very annoying tho.
Eva hand mixes polymer clay colours in small batches before weighing, rolling, piercing & stringing each individual bead. It's a long, slow process. But the results are beautiful.
Just one of these made at a time so it's as original as you are.
Finished with cord made from recycled sari-silk reclaimed from sari production and made into ribbon lengths in rural India using handmade traditional techniques by women's co-op groups. The ribbons are hand dyed so may have areas that are over or under-dyed, including 'speckles', giving a gorgeous vintage feel.
Using cord allows for you to fasten at the perfect length for you and your outfit, and is long enough for a dramatic bow to be tied at the back or side. Feeling less dramatic? Trim to the length you prefer.
